A pilot shared his tip to decrease jello effect. Let’s see!
The pilot has been making FPV for two months. He likes the DIY process a lot. However, the jello effect usually occurs when mounting SJ4000 on 2-axis BGC2 gimbal. He tried replacing the damping ball, balancing the props, and decreasing vibrations… but nothing works.
Unlike the shock absorber in vehicles with damping oil, damping balls are hollow and made from plastic. So the pilot tried stuffing the damping balls with a lot of materials: sponge, cotton… Finally, he succeeded with 3M sponge tape.
The pilot rolled the sponge tape(14cm) and stuffed them into the damping balls. After the flight test, whala! The pilot found out the jello effect is amazingly decreased.
